Maroochydore, Nambour, Maleny, Woodford ~ 18 November, 2012 ....

No doubt the weather turned prospective attendees away. The day started-off miserable with heavy rain and scattered storms which surprisingly dispersed when it came time to leave the Sundowner Hotel. Nice and sunny around the Sunshine Coast and hinterland.

Enjoyed a pleasant stopover at the Lions Park at Maroochydore (Cotton Tree) for morning tea. Darryl quickly got the water on the boil while Liz passed around her freshly cooked apricot and jam biscuits. While this was happening, Ron took a dart across to the nearby markets looking for a bargain. He returned empty handed!

Morning tea over, we headed-off to Woodford via Nambour, Mapleton, Montville and Maleny. Had to be at Woodford no later than 1:00pm as this is the time John Larkin likes to have his lunch!

A slight mishap enroute Maleny to Woodford when a rear tyre of Liz's Ford ute picked-up a bolt which pierced the tyre. A quick wheel change got her back on the road.

The usual weekend congestion greeted us at Woodford but no problem getting a spot by the Memorial Park. Nice clean BBQ and facilities. Everybody relaxed and enjoyed the break, the food and verbal intercourse.

Humongous storm looming from the west and moving-in fast. Green in colour and full of ice. Ron and Lesley were the first to pull stumps and head for home. Not far behind were the rest. I just made it home (5ks from Woodford) amidst heavy rain and mild hail. Don't know about the others apart from Ron who advised that he had just made it to Caboolture.

Bob Farmer and Narelle Farmer, Noel and Rosemary Cunningham, Cassandra and Jason Brown, John and Denise Larkin, Darryl and Liz Harris, Lesley and Ron Ahl, Ray Pietsch, Lance Haslewood.

Kevin Lewis and Des and Karen Fiedler (and guests) came to the Sundowner to see the group off.

Thanks to Darryl (and Liz) for organising the run and morning tea.
